TWO redesigned and
redefined Maxxum ranges from Case IH offer two distinct feature sets
for 2010: the economical Maxxum aimed at livestock farmers market and
the advanced Maxxum Multicontroller delivering more sophisticated
features to mixed farming operations or contractors.

THE new 113hp New
Holland
T5070 is now available in the UK with retail prices starting at about
£41,000. The tractor sits at the top of the T5000 series and has a class-leading low
37.6kg/hp power-to-weight ratio that is ideal to perform mixed farming
applications in a more productive way and reduce soil compaction.
NEW Holland is
taking the technological initiative with its revolutionary new approach
to Precision Land Management. Not only is it fitting its IntelliSteer
Integrated Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) guidance to
many more of its machines as factory fit, but CNH - working with its
world-renowned partner Trimble - is now the only tractor manufacturer
able to supply after-market integrated DGPS kits for competitive brands
of tractor.
A NEW four-model
tractor range that combines the best features of two top-selling
Landini models will be unveiled at Lamma 2010 by distributor
AgriArgo UK. The 5-H Series
- the first range from the Italian marque to be identified by numbers
rather than a name in recent years - comprises four models powered by
four-cylinder Perkins engines with outputs from 74hp to 102hp.
JEFF and Oliver
Claydon have been working hard with their team during the past year to
develop a new 6m drill that is lighter by design, with a tine that can
be used in an auto-reset or shear-bolt configuration giving the machine
its name, The Claydon Hybrid.
COUSINS' new Patriot
combination cultivator give up to 6.4m of working width with loosening
legs at 600mm centres, two rows of discs, the company's new patented

BUILDING a business
fit for a new generation is the aim of a new venture in South Wales
that sees an agricultural engineering business return to the new
tractor market. Lanes
Agricultural is the farm machinery business of Lanes Garage, based at
Llanvetherine, near Abergavenny, Gwent, and the newly-appointed sales
and service dealer for Landini farm tractors.
MAINTAINING its
policy of continuous product development, Massey Ferguson has
introduced two important new options to enhance the operating
efficiency and performance of its MF3600 tractors for working in
vineyards, orchards and many other specialist applications.
HORSTINE's AirStream
granular fertiliser applicator is now available with a 6m folding,
front-mounted boom that allows fertiliser to be applied to crops grown
in beds at the pre- and post-planting stage or to salad and brassica
grown in rows.
KUHN has expanded its hay
making range with the all-new SW4004 self-loading large-square-bale
wrapper which is capable of wrapping square bales up to 120cm x 140cm x
200cm, including double bales.
KUHN's range of feed mixer-distributors has been completed with the launch of the new Euromix 1 Profile model. This
new generation of mixer, with two vertical screws, has been developed
to enable farmers with buildings that are difficult to access, to work
with mixed rations.
ZETOR'S long-awaited
Maxterra tractor appeared in prototype form at Agritechnica 2009. A 165hp example, from near the top of the new range that will
offer models from 135-175hp, was exhibited.
THE Kuhn Group has introduced new triple mowing combination, the
GMD8830, into its range of mowing machines aimed at contractors and
larger farms alike. This new mowing combination with a working width of
8.20-8.74m (depending on the overlap chosen with the frontal mowing
unit), achieves a high level of working output while requiring only
limited tractor power from 120hp.
LEMKEN has launched the
new Zirkon 8 power harrow range for tractors from 60-175hp. The new
machines can be used with more powerful tractors than their successful
predecessor, the Zirkon 7, while additional equipment can be selected
on the machine to bring its specification to a level similar to that of
the Zirkon 10 power harrow range.
LEMKEN exhibited its new
Juwel mounted plough at Agritechnica 2009. Successor to the successful
Opal series, it offers the high-quality work of its predecessor together with new options and enhanced user-friendliness.
THE Kverneland Group has
entered into an agreement with Veenhuis Machines to acquire the loader
and transport wagon division of the company. Kverneland Group takes
over all rights of the products with immediate effect, with the
machines to be distributed by the Vicon and Kverneland Taarup brands.
THE
futuristic-looking iXter sprayer range from Vicon is the industry's
first tractor mounted sprayer series to be offered with full Isobus
compatibility.
