Argo Group: New company set up to distribute McCormick and Landini

Published on January 6, 2009

THE Argo Group has set up a new company to handle sales, distribution and after-sales support of Landini, McCormick and Valpadana tractors in Britain. AgriArgo UK Ltd will be based at purpose-built premises for sales, training and parts distribution at Harworth, 10 miles to the south of Doncaster.
“The formation of AgriArgo UK Ltd is a logical step in the transformation of the Argo Group’s interests here,” general manager Ray Spinks said. “These have changed from manufacturing and wholesale distribution with international responsibilities to one focused solely on sales and after-sales support of Landini, McCormick and Valpadana products in Britain.”
Adopting the Argo name for the British branch reinforces the company’s position within a group that last year produced more than 24,000 tractors, making it one of the biggest manufacturers in the western world. Including 'agri’ in the title emphasises the company’s core market of agriculture.
“We have a new name and new premises, but our marketing and distribution approach in Britain hasn’t changed,” Mr Spinks added. “AgriArgo UK Ltd will continue to distribute Landini and McCormick products through separate dealer networks across Great Britain, with only the specialist Valpadana models being available through both channels.”
The product range includes tractors for farming, industrial and groundscare use from 20hp to more than 200hp, plus front-end loaders and telescopic handlers.
