JF-Stoll: New generation of mid-sized rakes

Published on April 27, 2009

THE new R760 mid-sized rake, aimed at larger trailed forage harvester and big baler operations, has been launched by JF-Stoll (UK) Ltd.

The R760 is a 6.85-7.60m working width centre delivery rake based around a 3.20m rotor design with 12 tangentially arranged tine arm, carrying four double tines per arm.

The R760 is the first mid-sized rake to share the bridge-type chassis design as seen on previous wider working width rakes. This unique design spreads the stresses of a long frame supporting heavy rotor heads in a much more stable manner than parallel frame designs. It also provides greater under frame clearance at the pint where the swath is formed.

The rotor heads are supported from a taller support frame, again due to the main chassis design, this allowing the designers to introduce a near parallel crab lift of the rotors when making headland turns.

Automatic rear steering is standard with the R760 and the rotors feature a three-wheel bogie under carriage for proper contour following.

The engineers at JF-Stoll have stayed with a mechanical design of drive taking drive from the tractor PTO as this is both simple, reliable and cost effective especially with this mid sized type of rake.

The rotor head units are a new development and feature replaceable cam bearings and tine arm bearing units. Tine arms are heavy-duty in design and the cam track is dust sealed and adjustable in timing.

Transport width comes in at a handy 2.95m and the overall height can be reduced by removing the top tine arms and placing them on the rear carrying sockets incorporated into the chassis at the rear. Road lights and marker boards are standard features also.

Price of the R760 is £16,840
