Stronga: SwapLoada system provides modular trailers Published on June 16, 2009 CUSTOMERS
that don’t need the full function of a hook trailer can now get the
benefits of running one high-capacity professional chassis with the
ability to change the trailer body for separate tasks. Modular
units can be swapped in about 20 minutes using the tractor’s hydraulic
system to raise the module after unlocking. When the module is clear of
the chassis, jack legs are inserted and the chassis simply driven out
ready to reverse under the next module. Stronga had a SL24 chassis model at cereals 2009. It comes with a 24t
sprung suspension on full tandem commercial axles, 420x180 brakes and
sprung drawbar as standard, and is designed for modern, high-capacity,
high-speed transport. Also
on the stand was a 20 cubic metre, smooth-sided grain module,
equipped with roll sheet and hydraulic door, as well as a 12,000-litre
spray nurse tank module suitable for water or liquid fertiliser. The
new range has been developed in response to customer demand for one
really high-specification chassis capable of working year-round that
meets forthcoming UK braking legislation, while allowing the customer
flexibility to change between grain/bulk modules, Hardox half-pipe
dumper modules for heavy materials and tanker or flat modules. The
modules can be purchased over a number of years, spreading the cost and
allowing the customer to build up his own system. For further information visit: www.stronga.com. |
