THE KE Special and KE
Super series is the latest rotary harrow development from Amazone. The
right PTO driven soil tillage equipment is now available for every
performance class and size of operation. What makes the new e-box gearbox in the KE Special and KE Super rotary harrow series unusual is that more is achieved with fewer parts.
With previous gearbox designs the transfer from the higher PTO shaft speed down to the lower rotor speed takes place in the gearbox meaning that higher forces are built up in the gearbox. The friction created generates heat, which has a cost in terms of power and fuel. e-box only builds up forces directly at the rotor. This ensures high speeds and low torque in the gearbox, high strength, low fuel consumption and a clear weight saving.
The speed of the tines can be changed in the gearbox without tools simply by moving the bevel gearwheels. Together with the different PTO shaft speeds on the tractor this gives up to six rotor speeds, enabling the farmer to react quickly and easily to different soil conditions. Adjusting the speed appropriately also preserves the condition of the soil; fuel consumption and wear can also be reduced.
The KE Special can be used with smaller tractors, as the innovative e-box also means reduced weight. For the higher horsepower ranges performance is maintained by using the KE Super as the KE Super can be used with tractors up to 180hp.
The standard through drive offers the option of adding PTO driven implements, such as a pneumatic seed drill.
A front-mounted frame has been developed for the KE Special and KE Super series.

Front mounting
A special front-mounted frame has been developed for the KE Special and KE Super series, specifically for farms that want to work the soil intensively in one passage.
The combination, with light rollers up to 500mm in diameter, gives farmers a practical solution for using the front-mounting area of the tractor for a soil tillage implement. Rotary harrows are front-mounted particularly often in potato cultivation, in combination with a potato planting machine at the rear.
The e-box PTO shaft connection, fitted as standard on both sides of the KE gearbox, allows extremely flexible use of the rotary harrow. For grain cultivation, the rotary harrow can be combined in a seed drill combination with mechanical and pneumatic drilling implements.
