Claydon's Hybrid drill has a new tine design to make it easier to fold.
JEFF and Oliver Claydon have been working hard with their team during the past year to develop a new 6m drill that is lighter by design, with a tine that can be used in an auto-reset or shear-bolt configuration giving the machine its name, The Claydon Hybrid.
This new tine design, developed by the Claydon team, allows larger machines to fold around the seed hopper to stay within the 3m road transport width regulations, something that is not possible with the SR models due to the depth of their tines.
The Hybrid uses a Claydon-built seed hopper with state of the art RDS technology allowing precision-farming techniques to be applied to the seeding process.
The Claydon Hybrid no longer uses the wheels on the back of the drill that are seen on the other drill models; instead a level board has been added. The level board is set to run between the seeded rows rather than on top of them as the wheels do.

The drill features a new ski-board design on the back for excellent levelling capabilities.

"We have added the level board to the rear instead of wheels because in normal drilling conditions it is not advisable to press the soil as soon as it's been moved," Jeff Claydon said. "Most soils benefit from some time to mellow before being pressed down."
The Claydon Hybrid still incorporates the patented Claydon seeding technology proven during the past eight seasons to give huge establishment cost savings while maintaining exceptional yields in all applicable crops.

    Hybrid drill features:
  • A revolutionary front tine design is used to allow both shear bolt mode or hydraulic stone protection on the same machine by adding the modular add-ons.
  • It is currently available in 6m format and the 4.8m design is in progress.
  • By folding down to 2.8m, road transport is no problem.
  • High clearance tines don't allow blockages.
  • The light weight design means a 6m machine weighs just 3t.
  • A fully mounted by design.
  • Mid mounted depth wheels give optimum seed depth and placement.
  • The gull wing design allows for optimal contour following.
  • A 1.25 ton hopper for usage of ton bags without having to run out of seed before refilling.
  • A new ski-board design on the back for excellent levelling capabilities.
  • Bourgault Speed-Loc Technology on the seeding tines allows for quick change around and minimum downtime in peak season.
  • A stiff rear seed tine allows very accurate seed placement.
