The BoomTrac system in now available on 700i Series sprayers.
NEW for 2010, BoomTrac automatic boom height and tilt control will be available on John Deere's 700i Series trailed sprayers for the first time.
First introduced on the 800 Series range in 2005, BoomTrac is designed to increase spray accuracy, operator comfort and productivity.
The John Deere BoomTrac system helps to prevent uneven chemical application, while also making the job of the operator much easier. It uses two ultrasonic sensors – one at each end of the boom – to constantly measure the height of the spray boom above the crop.
If the boom is not level with the canopy, or is too high or low, an electronic controller adjusts the height and angle of the boom until it is parallel to the crop and at the right height. As a result, spray application is more uniform, while the operator can concentrate on driving the tractor, without struggling to adjust the spray boom.
Deere's iSolutions system from the 5430i self-propelled sprayer has also now been extended to John Deere's 700i and 800i Series trailed sprayers. This includes the integration of a new tank fill calculator, which will be tested in the UK this summer, as well as the advanced SprayerPro automatic boom section control system, and the unique AutoDilute rinsing system for handling the appropriate dilution of residual liquid in the sprayer.
