Kuhn's new Premia 4000 seed drill.
KUHN has extended its range of mounted mechanical seed drills with the introduction of the new Premia 3000 and 4000 models.
They are larger that the Premia 250 and 300 models by having bigger seed hoppers with capacities of about 250 lit/m or 330 lit/m with the optional hopper extension.
In addition to the larger hopper volume, these seed drills present several original features and a comprehensive equipment including large-dimension wheels, very good access to the metering units for flow control and emptying remaining seeds, hopper bottom with ridges to reducing the residual dose in small seeds, vertically folding markers with safety break back, rear covering harrow and complete lighting equipment.
A precise and constant application rate throughout the day is ensured by the two drive wheels. Volumetric application rate is managed by fluted rollers, with the flow adjustment set by the micrometric screw. Calibration is easily carried out using a simple lever, and there is a large area to place the trays used for stationary test.
Depending on the establishment conditions, the Premia 3000 and 4000 mounted mechanical precision seed drills may also be combined with a soil preparation tool or attached directly to the tractor and can be fitted with Suffolk or discs coulters.
A lower adjustable stop can be fitted to the Premia. This limits the seeding depth and allows working at high pressure even when seeding at shallow depth, and is an exclusive feature of Kuhn's mounted mechanical seed drills.
