Teagle's new Multidisc/Polymat Compact combination.
Teagle will launch a seeder for oilseed rape establishment that can be mounted on its range of Multidisc harrows at Lamma 2011. The unit offers cultivation and sowing in one pass.
The new Polymat Compact H seeder is based on the proven Polymat pneumatic drill and uses the same metering unit. The functions are controlled electronically from a terminal in the tractor cab.
The standard hopper is 600 litres, but can be extended to 1,300 litres. A distributor bar consisting of 12-16 spreading plates has been developed for accurate distribution and overlap of seed.
The seeder can be mounted on the 3m Multidisc Vario, a high-speed combined disc and tine cultivator fitted with hydraulically retractable tines. The machine is a new concept that offers the user the option of varying the intensity of tillage on the move.
The Multidisc has been developed to reflect the fact that not all areas on a farm, or even within the same field, require the same amount of cultivation and consequently a significant amount of fuel can be saved at the touch of a button by raising a set of hydraulically retractable tines when they are not required.
Larger models with up to 6m working width, will be available in 2011 with outputs of up to 8ha/hr.
