Murska: Mill mix unit is aimed at home feed production
Published on February 1, 2011
The Murska 350 S2, which was featured on the Kelvin Cave stand at Lamma 2011, has been built to meet a demand from livestock farmers. The unit will mill cereals or pulses with a fluted roller, then mix the resulting meal with two different solid ingredients, for example protein and minerals, and a liquid ingredient like molasses. Mixing takes place in a mixer stirrer auger that runs along the bottom of the unit. With an output of 5t/hr, the mill/mixer costs £17,500 which, the company says, should be easily recouped when you consider mobile mixing can cost £20/t.
