Cousins precision seed bed harrow now has more tines and a new levelling board.

Cousins of Emneth has gone for more intensive harrowing from its precision seed bed harrow by increasing the number of straight spring tines by 25 per cent.

Mounted at 300mm intervals in five rows across a 6m working width, they now provide just 50mm spacing across the sugar beet seed bed. They are followed by a new levelling board which ensures a smooth bed to the crumbler.

The unit is also now offered with a wide-spaced crumbler option for those growing beet in stony conditions.
The range includes 6m and 8m folding models, as well as the smaller 3m rigid and 4m and 5m folding versions. They all feature two rows of straight leading tines, followed by a full-width hydraulic springboard with individual springing elements to start levelling the surface. A 450mm tyre roller then crushes and firms clods as well as providing depth control for the forward part of the harrow.
Next in line is a four-bar levelling harrow with sharp straight tines to further reduce and level the seedbed, while at the rear is a 500mm fine-finish crumbler roller that also sets the depth for the levelling harrow.
Numerous other options are also available on this flexible machine that’s aimed at turning ploughed ground into a flat seedbed in one pass.
