Spaldings' universal rubber profiled packer roller is available from 3.0-4.5m.
Spaldings has introduced a universal rubber profiled packer roller to its market-leading Flatlift subsoiler range.
The roller is available from 3.0-4.5m wide to fit the company's three-, four-, five- and seven-leg Flatlift machines, but can also be fitted to any other make of cultivator or subsoiler. The system is supplied as a complete kit comprising frame, roller, bearings and scrapers for easy adaptation to existing equipment.

The large rubber packer roller is 586mm in diameter and has been designed to deliver deep or superficial consolidation that is suited to heavy or light soil conditions following primary or secondary cultivation operations. The packing effect favours germination of the seeds while retaining water content of the soil and promoting good drainage in wet conditions.
"The rubber construction also allows the roller to flex whilst working"
Spaldingssays agricultural sales director Roger Chase said. "The self-cleaning properties of the roller means that wet soils won't stick to it like they would a rigid roller as the rubber movements and scrapers keep the roller working in optimum condition and offer extended working windows."

The roller can be used for road transport purposes on semi-mounted equipment.

Constructed from durable rubber compound the roller is extremely shock- and cut-resistant and can be used for road transport purposes on semi-mounted equipment with high speed tractors. The individual sections can be removed and replaced when required, although the low-maintenance roller would be expected to last many seasons before replacements were needed.
"Due to the construction of the roller it prolongs machinery life by absorbing natural ground contact vibration," Mr Chase added. "The low resistance to rolling also aids in decreased fuel consumption."
