The DM Rapido power harrow with Alitalia Air Drill featuring Perfecta disc coulters.
This year's Tillage event near Abingdon on September 14 will mark the debut of two new Maschio drills - the Primavera tine seeder and the Alitalia pneumatic drill - courtesy of new UK distributor Opico.
The Maschio Primavera tine seeder is available in working widths of 4.0m, 4.8m, 5.0m and 6.0m. These hydraulically folding drills consist of three sections that follow the contours of the ground, with four rows of spring reset straight tines for good trash clearance, and a 1,500-litre hopper.
Due to its unique bypass air system, Maschio's patented Flexeed pneumatic distribution gives a 25 per cent improved air/seed mix compared to traditional systems, and so gives a more uniform seed row.
"Maschio's Genius lite control box also primes the system so there is no seeding delay at the start of a run, a great feature for headlands,"
Opico's Maschio product manager, David Day, said.
The Maschio Alitalia/DM Rapido is a combination power harrow and pneumatic seed drill, available in widths of 3.0m and 4.0m. The power harrow with its Rapido quick-fit tines, double-skinned trough to safeguard against stone damage and stone deflector, is already well-established in the UK. The new addition for UK farmers is the Maschio Alitalia pneumatic seed drill that fits to it with great ease via Maschio's Quick-match System.
"The Quick-match System allows the seed drill to be easily coupled and uncoupled from the power harrow, making it easy and safe for a single operator to change the set-up," Mr Day said.
