Lemken: 3m Compact-Solitair drill on the way

Published on October 1, 2011

Agritechnica 2011 will see Lemken unveiling its trailed Compact-Solitair drill combination with power harrow in a 3m working width version. The 3,500-litre hopper gives the unit greater field efficiency than a mounted drill, with a single filling allowing seeding of up to 20ha of wheat.
The costs involved for a second tractor with trailer and driver for filling up with seed are a welcome savings potential. The large wheels on the tyre packer roller ensure that transport over longer distances is fast and without any problems, even with a full hopper and tractor from 120hp upwards.

The Zirkon 10 power harrow creates an optimum seedbed, both in conventional as well as in minimum tillage methods, whatever the soil. Heavy soils, and changing ground conditions, benefit significantly from this system. This Compact-Solitair with power harrow provides a significantly greater service range than a drill combination using disc tools, and offers comparable fuel consumption and work speed.
The seed rate is continuously adjusted using the electrically driven seeding shaft from 1-500kg/ha. The Lemken Solitronic electronic machine control enables the driver to control, regulate and monitor all the Compact-Solitair functions from the in-cab display terminal. A control system that complies with the Isobus standard is also available.
The tyre packer roller ensures precise power harrow depth guidance and reconsolidation across the entire seedbed as well as low draft forces. Either three or four seeding coulters are located behind each wheel depending whether 12.5cm or 16.7cm row spacing is specified.
Seed is placed with the low-maintenance OptiDisc double disc coulters. The coulter pressure can be hydraulically increased to 70kg/coulter. The depth control wheel ensures uniform delivery depth for the seed, irrespective of the soil conditions.
The Compact-Solitair with power harrow is particularly versatile on account of the standardised rear three-point linkage. This allows the coulter bar to be decoupled and replaced by a precision drill for maize. When sowing maize, the Compact-Solitair hopper is used as a fertiliser hopper. The drill combination can be fully utilised, which in turn makes it particularly interesting for biogas operation.
The production start-up for the 3m version of the Compact-Solitair with power harrow is planned for the autumn of 2012.
