AFTER a couple of quieter months, a flurry of new machines have been announced that will make their first UK appearance at Cereals 2009, which takes place in the middle of this month.
The final Royal Show may be scheduled for July, but Cereals is thriving as it continues to attract ever-larger numbers of exhibitors and visitors.
Some of the equipment will already have been seen at this year's Sima Show, but there are some genuinely new bits of kit at Cereals.
He-Va's new Nitro-Jet from Opico is one machine that deserves some attention, while Chafer has also announced a similar machine that has not yet been seen.
There will be a large number of new sprayers at the event, many of them from France's Exel Group. Berthoud and Tecnoma both have new self-propelled models on the same chassis, but with very different spray gear. Another Exel company, Hardi, will have a new mounted model on show, as will Lemken.
McCormick has already announced some upgrades to CX and MTX that will be seen at Cereals, while New Holland has scheduled a press meeting on the first day of the event where something new is bound to emerge.
A new departure for Shelbourne Reynolds is the Canadian-built MacDon header, which it will have on show for the first time at Cereals. Abrey Agricultural will also have a combine-related launch in the shape of a new range of combine auger extensions from another Canadian company Stewart Steel.
Kuhn's new baler range - bought from Vicon late last year - will be on show in their new colours.
If you're not going to Cereals 2009, keep an eye on this website to read about the latest machinery launches.
