JANUARY'S Lincolnshire Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association (Lamma) Show at Newark will present the first opportunity for many in the UK's farming community to see the new machines launched at Agritechnica 2009.
The demise of the Smithfield Show several years ago now has turned Lamma into a major event in the UK's agricultural machinery show calendar. There will be more than 570 exhibitors for the 2010 event, which takes place on January 20/21 at the Newark Showground, on the Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire border.
Lamma also presents the ideal occasion for UK-based manufacturers that don't travel to Germany to exhibit at Agritechnica to show off their latest developments. Two highlights that we're already featuring here on WniF are Cousins of Emneth, which has developed a series of wider, folding versions of its Patriot cultivator, and Claydon which has developed a new hybrid seed drill.
Both these manufacturers have excellent pedigrees for innovation that are matched by top-class engineering and a build quality that has to be seen to be believed.
We'll be adding more machines that will be debuting at Lamma in the weeks to come, and reporting on other new developments we find at the event.
