    The third generation of S Series tractors have been announced by Valtra.
    The Valtra S Series, introduced in 2008, was the first agricultural tractor in the world to feature SCR technology to clean exhaust emissions. Now the S Series has entered its third generation, as denoted by the last number in the model designation. The new models are the S233 (270hp), S263 (295hp), S293 (320hp), S323 (350hp) and S353 (370hp).
    Designed for heavy-duty, large-scale field operations, John Deere's new 9R and 9RT Series tractors are the most powerful, productive and comfortable four-wheel-drive tractors the company has ever built. Available for 2012, the new 9R and 9RT Series line-up consists of four wheeled tractors and three tracked versions, and replaces the 9030 Series that was introduced in 2007.
    Originally announced at Agritechnica 2009, the new Xerion 4500 and Xerion 5000 have been brought fully to market, and top off the Claas high-horsepower tractor range.
    Previewed at the Sima Show earlier this year, the new Claas Axion 900 range of tractors will make their official debut at Agritechnica 2011 in November. The introduction of this new range, with power outputs from 320-410hp, marks Claas' entry into a completely new market sector. The Axion 900 is a totally new design that rounds-off the Claas range of high-horsepower tractors.
    Case IH is to expand its Magnum Series to include a new Magnum 370 CVT model from late 2012. The new 370 will offer a maximum boosted output of 419hp, making it the most powerful conventional tractor on the market.
    John Deere is adding new features to its 8R Series tractors from 260-360hp, which also now meet European Stage 3b emissions regulations.
    Massey Ferguson pioneered the use of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in agriculture and is now extending its lead with the introduction of its Generation 2 SCR system as standard on all models in the MF 8600 Series tractors which span 270-370hp.
    Claas gave visitors to Sima 2012 a sneak preview of the new Axion 900, the company's new tractor family that is set to join the range in 2012.
    Case IH has won a Silver medal in the Sima 2011 Innovation Awards for a new continuously variable PTO transmission concept that is said to increase tractor productivity and efficiency.
    Following the introduction of the new 8R Series range of tractors last year, John Deere has now announced five newly styled wheeled models from 260-360hp. These are designed to meet European Stage IIIB emissions regulations while maintaining excellent fuel economy.
    In conjunction with new emission legislation effective from 2011, Case IH has introduced a new range of Quadtrac and Steiger models now equipped with the EfficientPower technology with reduced fuel consumption and higher performance.
    New Holland has completely redesigned and upgraded its American-built T9 tractor range. The brand's most powerful tractor, with outputs as high as 669hp maximum Engine Power Management horsepower, is available in two versions: a standard and a heavy-duty frame to satisfy all farming needs.
    New Holland's flagship T8 range is set to revolutionise farming with the compact long-wheelbase concept. This is the result of extensive research carried out with customers in order to guarantee maximum productivity and farming efficiency.
    TO HELP counter the increasing problem of tractor and machinery theft, John Deere has announced that all its Mannheim-built tractors will be fitted with the Construction & Agricultural Equipment Security and Registration (Cesar) Scheme Datatag security system as standard from later this year.
    NEW Holland has announced its strategy for meeting Stage 3B emissions standards when they are introduced next year. From January 2011, cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) will be used in engines up to 174hp, while selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology - which requires the use of AdBlue - will feature in larger power units. The SCR technology will then be extended to engines of 100hp or more from January 2012.
    BELARUS revealed its prototype MTS3023 diesel-electric tractor and the new 355hp MTS3522 at Agritechnica 2009.
    AMONG the Russian built tractors at Agritechnica 2009 was the Kirovets 9400 from Kirovsky Zavod that features a new CVT transmission from Mali International.
    A NEW tractor from Russian manufacturer Terrion looks set to become the world's largest conventional tractor when it is launched in 2011.
    DEUTZ-Fahr has entered the big league following the show-stopping launch of its AgroXXL tractor at this year’s Agritechnica. Still a prototype, the 600hp, eight-wheeled tractor has been developed in co-operation with German research company Deutsche Traktor Union.
