Precision farming systems

Amazone has selected the optimum mounting positions to both protect the camera and to ensure the best view.
Front and rear implements on tractors, either mounted or trailed, often obstruct the view of the driver, both on the move and when manoeuvring. Camera systems can help solve this problem and reduce the potential risks from handling machinery, and with this in mind Amazone now offers a camera system from Brigade as optional equipment for its FT 1001 front tank for sprayers, FPS/FRS front tanks for sowing and numerous other implements from its plant-protection, fertilising and sowing ranges.
The Kverneland Group has developed a series of advanced application controls for its Kverneland and Vicon machinery ranges to boost accuracy and efficiency within precision farming systems.
The Smart Key from New Holland has been awarded a Silver Medal at Agritecnica 2011 - one of five silver medals the company has taken this year.
Agco brand Fendt has been awarded an Agritechnica 2011 Gold Medal for its new Fendt GuideConnect system, where two tractors are connected via satellite navigation and radio communication to form one unit, with one of the two vehicles unmanned but performing the same working procedure as the manned vehicle.
In the run-up to Agritechnica 2011, the show's Innovations Commission has awarded five Amazone innovations with silver medals.
Lemken has introduced two new options that significantly increase the ease of operation of the company's Sirius field sprayer.
Case IH has won a Gold medal in the 2011 Sima Show Innovation Awards for a new automatic vehicle-to-vehicle synchronisation solution that expands the company's Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) portfolio.
New Holland Agriculture has won a Silver medal at the Sima Show's 2011 innovation awards for the Crop ID system that's available for the BB9000 range of large square balers. The innovative technology was recognised by the Sima jury as it will enable users to identify each and every individual bale thanks to a highly sophisticated tagging system.
In order to simplify and clarify the inter-relationship and role of its precision farming products, Claas has brought them all under the Easy (Efficient Agriculture Systems) banner, which clearly defines the role of the management and control systems available on the firms' machinery.
In addition to its GPS-based steering systems, Claas is now able to offer the unique Cam Pilot steering system that uses a camera to follow features on the ground.
The wealth of output and management information available from Claas' Telematics combine management and monitoring system has proved so useful to operators that the company has extended its availability to its larger tractors and Jaguar foragers.
